An excellent scanner for your small business or home office - Fujitsu ScanSnap ix1500
If you are looking for an efficient and fast scanner for your small business, don't look further than Fujitsu ScanSnap ix1500. This newer model is faster and more sleek than its predecessor Fujitsu ScanSnap ix500. The software has been re-designed, so it is also more sleek although still heavy in terms of installation.
Pros
- Fast scanning speed - 30 pages per minute (dual side)
- Scans longer documents (up to almost 34 inches long according to spec's)
- Same look as original model with an added white option (great for modern office space)
- Uses the same carrier sheets as the original model (for those pesky small documents)
Cons
- Scanning only face down (although tech support is reporting that this may change via a software update)
- No native scan to Adobe button (but with some setup this is easily changed)
- No network cable (however there are upscale models of this scanner that are network-ready)
- Bottom tray does not fully close so leaves room for dust getting in the scanner

Scansnap ix1500 is a powerful machine for any small business or home office. It is easy to maintain, fairly easy to take to remote or client locations in the optional ScanSnap Bag (product number: PA03951-0651 for $39.95 on B&H website) and will help you tremendously in organizing your office in a more paperless manner.
